Affton Americans Dominate Columbus Weekend Tournaments

Four Affton teams brought home banners from the Big Bear Hocktoberfest Tournament in Madison, Wisconsin.

Affton PeeWee A1 went 3-1-0 in the tournament to win the championship. The team lost to the West Dundee Leafs 5-4 but rebounded to defeat the Twin Bridges Lightning 7-1 and the Wilmette Jr. Trevians 8-2. In the final game rematch against the Leafs, the Americans won 8-2.

Affton PeeWee B1 shutout the Bloomington Thunder 8-0 in the championship game. The team had two shutouts from Taevin Lange and Cam Krob was named tournament MVP.

Affton Squirt A1 went 4-0 to win the Hocktoberfest tournament. The team had three shutouts and Nolan Matthews was named tournament MVP.

Affton Squirt A2 took the championship with an 8-4 win over the Madison Capitols in the final game.

Back in St. Louis, Affton Americans Bantam A2 won the Big Bear Rolling Thunder tournament. The team had a 5-1 win over the Texas Jr. Brahmas, a 7-1 victory over the Meramec Sharks, and a 2-2 tie vs the Wilmette Jr. Trevians. In the semifinal rematch with Wilmette, Affton dominated with a 7-0 shutout and took the championship with a 6-1 victory over the Wichita Jr. Thunder.
