Bob Bucher will lead Affton’s Midget Major U18 CSDHL team. Bucher has been Affton’s Midget Major CSDHL head coach for the past three seasons and guided the team to USA Hockey Nationals in two of those seasons. Bucher was an assistant coach for Affton’s Midget Major CSDHL team for seven years until he was named head coach of the Missouri State University hockey team. During his five years at Missouri State, Bucher’s teams played in two National Championships and he led the team’s transition from ACHA Division II to ACHA Division I. Dominic Valencia and Erik Boning will return to join Coach Bucher on the bench for the 2021-22 season.
Andrew Wingbermuehle will lead Affton’s Midget Minor U16 CSDHL team. Wingbermuehle has been an Affton Americans coach at various levels for the past six seasons, most recently serving as Affton’s CSDHL U15 head coach. Wingbermuehle played his youth hockey in the Affton Americans program and played two seasons with the St. Louis Jr. Blues. Bob Jakubeck will join Coach Wingbermuehle on the bench for the 2021-22 season.
Scott Sanderson will lead Affton’s Midget Minor U15 CSDHL team. Last season, Sanderson guided the St. Louis Eagles 2006 CSDHL team to the USA Hockey Nationals. Scott was inducted into the St. Louis Amateur Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018 in recognition of his more than 25 years of dedication to coaching youth hockey in the St. Louis area. Sanderson spent most of those years with the St. Louis AAA Blues program as the Midget Major head coach. More than 130 of Sanderson’s players have advanced to Tier I or Tier II junior hockey and several others have played professionally.
