Affton Americans U16 CSDHL Prospects Team

Affton Hockey is adding a U16 Prospects team for the 2021-22 season. This team will compete in the new CSDHL Prospects Division and will include players from 2005 and 2006 birth years. Affton’s U16 Prospects team will play a full league schedule against other teams in the Prospects Division and playoffs will be held at the end of the season. Additionally, the team may participate in various tournaments to give players the opportunity to compete at a higher level.

“We have been exploring the possibility of adding a Prospects Division for the past several years and we feel CSDHL is ready to move forward with this opportunity to give more young hockey players in the Midwest, as well as clubs throughout the United States, the chance to play and develop at the elite Tier II level that Central States offers,” says Jim Wright, CSDHL President.

Nick Staely will lead Affton’s U16 Prospects team. Staely has been coaching in the Affton Americans program for six years at various levels and for the past several seasons served as head coach of Affton’s U14 Bantam AA team. Nick played his youth hockey with the Affton Americans program before playing his high school career at St. John Vianney High School. Nick will be joined on the bench by Scott Roberts who has been an integral part of the success of Affton’s U15 and U16 CSDHL teams over the last two years.
