Affton Americans Bantam B1 won the Big Bear Gateway Tournament in St. Louis. The team went 3-0 in pool play and beat the Joliet Jaguars 5-2 in the semifinals to advance to the finals. Coach Nick Staely’s Bantam 1 team won the Between the Lines Big Bear Tournament in Nashville. The team was undefeated, beating the Knoxville Ice Bears, Nashville Flyers, and Atlanta Mad Hatters, and allowed only one goal the entire tournament. Goalie Colin Lowry was named MVP.
