Lady Liberty, Affton Hockey’s all-female hockey program, is pleased to announce new leadership for the 2023-24 season. Jason Carrera, who currently serves as Director of Player Development for Lady Liberty, will serve as Lady Liberty Hockey Director.
Kasey Kaiser, who served as Lady Liberty Director for the past four seasons, stepped down at the end of the 2022-23 season. In her tenure, Kaiser helped increase the number of players in the program by more than 50 percent and led the development of the club’s Learn to Play program. Lady Liberty currently has nearly 160 participants on more than 10 teams from beginner through elite level. Affton Hockey thanks Kaiser for her passion and dedication to Lady Liberty.
Carrera began coaching with Lady Liberty four years ago and has been an integral part of the growth and development of the club. Under his leadership, the club introduced Lady Liberty Elite teams that compete in an all-girls league as part of Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL), the second largest youth hockey league in the US. Affton Hockey’s Lady Liberty Elite teams play games against other teams in NIHL as well as select local and out-of-town all-girl tournaments. Carrera also is a referee for NCAA Division 1 women’s hockey.
